Into the Breach
Inspired by the book and movie "All Quiet on the Western Front" This piece depicts a solder charging forward into battle. I used a chess piece pawn for the subject. The color is almost stripped all off the background are stylized representations of the brokenness of everything, gunfire, and dead trees. The green strip is the hope we hold onto to justify that there is some purpose to all the horror of warfare.
The painting comes with a custom made frame taken from old fence boards.
